According to CDC,every day 29 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. Every time you get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, you risk not only losing your health or life, but you endanger the lives of others.

BlackVue user Mitchell sent us this footage of his accident, that involved a DUI driver.

Mitchell and his passenger were driving into Ipswich (QLD), below the speed limit. However the driver of a blue Ute (utility vehicle) not only failed to stop at the stop sign, he didn’t even slow down – crashing straight onto Mitchell’s car. The impact of the collision pushed Mitchell’s car to the second lane, into the path of another car traveling in the same direction.

After the police and emergency services arrived at the scene, the blue car driver failed the roadside breath test, blowing over double the legal limit in Queensland, Australia. The police were also shown the footage from Mitchell’sBlackVue DR750S-2CH dashcam, as Mitchell was able to pull up the video quickly via the dedicated app.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene. Mitchell had full coverage for his car, so the insurance dealt with the aftermath and contacting the involved parties. Mitchell’s car was written off due to significant damage, and he received a payout equal to the market value of the vehicle.
