Celebration cut short

Mukesh, his pregnant wife and 6 year old daughter were on their way to get ice cream. They were celebrating amazing news – they were having a boy! Unfortunately, while driving, a distracted driver rear-ended their car. The other driver was on her phone and didn’t look up until it was too late. The culprit was a young driver and immediately after the crash she told her parents she actually wasn’t on her phone when the incident happened. Mukesh was able to download the footage recorded by his BlackVue dash cam (DR750X-2CH Plus modelavailable here) and show them clearly what happened.

The problem of distracted driving

He sent the video to his own insurance company for processing, as the other party did not want to share any information with him at the scene. In cases like this, when the other involved driver is uncooperative, it’s always reassuring to have video evidence. While thankfully nobody got hurt, distracted driving (especially texting and driving) can be dangerous. Distracted driving was the main cause ofover 3,000 fatal accidents in the United States alone in 2019. Make sure you always pay attention to the road, and if you really need to use your phone – always use hands-free set to make a call.
