BlackVue user Brad sent us this unusual dash cam footage that saved him some money!
Glass shatters randomly
He parked his brand new Honda HRV and walked away – and the glass of the back window of the vehicle randomly shattered. It was an instant damage that couldn’t really be explained. As it turns out, allegedly the back glass of the new Honda HRVs have a fault in them by which they randomly shatter. It’s a semi known fault among the owners and Brad had hoped it wouldn’t happen to him.
He contacted his local Honda dealership about what had occurred. They tried to argue that maybe a rock had struck it or some other solution other than defective glass. Brad realized if not for the BlackVue dash cam footage (he fitted the dash cam right when he bought the car), he would have to pay otu of pocket or go through his insurance to get this fixed.
Money saved
Brad told us: “I sent off an email to the service advisor with the video of the back window just randomly breaking and this was the evidence I needed to rule I was not at fault for what occurred. Without that video, I would of been out of pocket for the glass and a rental vehicle. The purchase of the Blackvue dual dash cam set-up has saved me so much time, money and stress. For anyone out there who just has a front facing dashcam, get a reverse facing dash cam too! “
