Introduced at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas two weeks ago, the newdual-channel DR590-2CH andsingle-channel DR590-1CHare pure recording dashcams. They both pack a Sony STARVIS™ sensor in the front camera and deliver great night recording clarity. Like every BlackVue dashcam, the DR590-1CH and DR590-2CH feature buffered Parking Mode.
The product pages are now available for consultation and you can expect the online store pages to be added in the following days.
We will come back with a detailed comparison of the DR590-2CH vs 490-2CH and DR590-1CH vs DR450-1CH, but for now here are the key differences.
DR590-2CH
While the DR590-2CH is similar to the DR490-2CH in terms of specifications (Dual Full HD at 30FPS), its rear camera case design is more in line with other BlackVue products like the DR750S-2CH.
The DR590-2CH also brings back the MP4 format with separate front and rear video files, which can be played by most video players (the DR490-2CH bundles the front and rear videos in a single AVI file which requires the BlackVue Viewer for rear camera video playback). Of note, the power consumption has been further reduced.
DR590-1CH
The DR590-1CH represents a big leap in quality over the DR450-1CH that it will be replacing. As said, we will explore the differences in details in a future post, but we can already tell that DR590-1CH will support 60 frames per second Full HD recording. This will allow to better capture fast-moving objects with reduced motion blur. It also has a much wider angle of view than the DR450-1CH (139 degrees vs 118 degrees) and the power consumption is dramatically reduced, which makes a big difference for those who useParking Mode.
If you are interested in a BlackVue dashcam but could do without Wi-Fi and Cloud features, the DR590 Series is for you.
