BlackVue user Mark sent us this video of an incident he was a witness of. He was parked in the neighborhood when this occurred.
Rolling down a driveaway, no driver
Mark noticed that a red car (a mid-1990s Holden Statesman, one of the biggest and heaviest cars around in Australia these days) started rolling down the driveaway ahead of Mark’s vehicle. It quickly became apparent that there is no driver inside, just a panicked young woman in the passenger seat.
The car rolled across the street and hit a SUV parked there.
Tow bar saves the day?
Mark, whose full HD BlackVue dash cam recorded everything, walked over and let them know that he had a video of the whole thing.
“To me it looked like that the girl couldn’t find the brake in time. Through her tears she said she tried everything but nothing worked.”
The Statesman had a tow bar attached and it hit the wheel of the SUV instead of taking a direct hit. Otherwise, the damages could have been much more severe.
