It’s a pretty know rule of thumb that in case of a rear-end accident, the driver at the back is at fault. It’s not always the case, but in the majority of the rear-end collisions, the car at the back was not following at the safe distance. It’s safe to assume the party at fault in these situations . But sometimes you still need evidence – especially when the the party at fault try to claim they never hit you!
Rear-end? Not me!
And this is exactly what happened to BlackVue user Sam. He was waiting at the intersection and when the lights turned green, he slowly started moving forward. Suddenly, the Mercedes behind him drove forward and rear-ended Sam’s vehicle. There were no significant damages, but the other driver tried to deny hitting Sam’s car at first. She only admitted fault when Sam informed her he got the BlackVue DR750S-2CH(the new BlackVue DR750X-2CH Plus available here) installed and running front and rear cameras.
Clear evidence for the insurance
Were there any damages and the other driver kept denying their fault, Sam would have clear evidence of what happened that night. The insurance company would have no problem identifying the problem in the insurance claim process. This is why having a dashcam – especially dual channel one, with front and rear cameras capturing everything at all times – is so important.
